NETWORK OF BIKE LANES OF THE THORN COUNTY
It aims to strengthen the municipality’s sustainable urban mobility system by building a Cyclovia Network on the main urban axes of the city: Streets 33 and 19 (west east) and Street 20 (north-south) and interconnecting with the intermodal platform (railroad and road) and with the network of existing bike paths, including the bike path under construction on the Railway Canal, as part of the ReCaFE contract, as well as with the coastal cycle path.
About the Low-carbon economy objective
Thematic Objective 4 funds the low-carbon economy — renewable-energy capacity, energy efficiency in public buildings and housing, low-carbon urban mobility, smart grids and combined heat and power. It is the single largest climate strand of 2014–2020 Cohesion.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €2.8M toward a total project cost of €3.3M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
