Renewal of Carris’s fleet of urban public transport vehicles, with a view to environmental sustainability and decarbonisation of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
The Operation aims to renew Carris’s fleet of public passenger transport vehicles, through the acquisition of 180 new buses powered by cleaner energy sources, as well as the construction and installation of the respective means to support its operationality, in order to contribute to the adoption of measures to promote the environmental sustainability of its activity and decarbonisation in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
About the Low-carbon economy objective
Thematic Objective 4 funds the low-carbon economy — renewable-energy capacity, energy efficiency in public buildings and housing, low-carbon urban mobility, smart grids and combined heat and power. It is the single largest climate strand of 2014–2020 Cohesion.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €11.5M toward a total project cost of €14.3M — a co-funding rate of 80%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
