Establishment of geriatric centre in Kaunas Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences
In order to address the problem of insufficient quality and availability of geriatric services due to the lack of quality infrastructure and equipment, a project is being implemented by the public institution Kaunas Clinical Hospital to ensure the availability and quality of quality geriatric services for older people (60 years and over). Once the project has been completed, the Geriatric Centre will be established, consisting of a 50-bed stationary department of Geriatrics, a 10-bed Geriatric day station and a Geriatric outpatient unit. Thematic Objective 9 finances social inclusion and the fight against poverty: integration of marginalised communities, social housing, anti-discrimination measures, deinstitutionalisation of care.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €4.2M toward a total project cost of €5.0M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
