The aim of SENDoc is to introduce the use of wearable sensor systems in ageing communities in northern remote areas. These sensors can measure mobility, strength, balance, and also wellbeing, exercise, and safety, and have the potential to support independent living. SENDoc will assess the technical, clinical and social acceptability of early stage, and market-ready wearable technologies and their impact on patients, on health and care delivery, and on rural communities. About the Research, technological development and innovation objective

Thematic Objective 1 of the 2014–2020 Cohesion period funds research, technological development and innovation. It supports R&D infrastructure, technology transfer, business-academia partnerships and pilot lines that close the gap between scientific discovery and market application across EU regions.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €1.2M toward a total project cost of €1.9M — a co-funding rate of 65%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
