The social challenge ‘energy transition’ poses major technical, techno-economic and socio-political challenges for industry in the Zeeuws-Vlaanderen/Vlissingen region. The industry in this region is currently still heavily dependent on fossil energy. To make the transition possible, large amounts of renewable energy are needed. But more is needed, such as technology to produce hydrogen on a large scale green and to produce steel and other materials sustainably.
