From Plastic Waste to Refresh Plastics
In the Netherlands, a major step has been taken in making the plastics industry more sustainable. The government has decided that from 2027, producers of synthetic plastics will be obliged to use at least 25% recycled plastic. This percentage should rise to 30% by 2030. In addition, the extended product responsibility (UPV) has been in force since 1 July 2023, with which legislation now plays a significant role and contributes to regulating single-use plastics (hereinafter: SUP). Co-funding: the EU contributes €3.0M toward a total project cost of €6.7M — a co-funding rate of 45%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
Kohesio is the European Commission's open-data platform for projects co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund Plus, the Cohesion Fund and the Just Transition Fund.
