SotkamoSilver2.0 – pioneering sustainable development and growth for Sotkamo Silver Oy with new generation circular economy innovations
The main goal of the SotkamoSilver2.0 project is to develop a completely new ability for Sotkamo Silver Oy to utilize the nutrients of wastewater generated as a side stream of mining operations as a raw material for food production, agriculture and forestry fertilizers. The project also studies and tests the utilization of mining waste in mining operations in such a way that the implementation of the circular economy is maximized by using the mining waste generated in the production process, tailings, as cost-effectively as possible in mine filling for ore production and closing mining waste …
Co-funding: the EU contributes €1.2M toward a total project cost of €2.0M — a co-funding rate of 60%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
