This project contributes to the call’s overall objective, which is to stimulate the competitiveness of eco-innovative SMEsseeking to launch their products on world markets. This project introduces an eco-innovative product, a car-starting battery,which contains no hazardous materials, extends battery life at least six times longer (in start-stop life) compared to lead-acidbatteries, and produces significant CO2 savings.Olife has developed a new car battery that is a milestone in the evolution of the automotive industry. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €2.5M toward a total project budget of €3.6M — a funding rate of 70%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 2.7 years from 2015-12-01 to 2018-08-31.
