A-CINCH AUGMENTED COOPERATION IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN NUCLEAR AND RADIOCHEMISTRY

Coordinator: CESKE VYSOKE UCENI TECHNICKE V PRAZE (CZ)

Expertise in nuclear and radiochemistry (NRC) is of strategic relevance in the nuclear energy sector and in many vital applications. The need for radiochemistry expertise will even increase as the focus shifts from safe nuclear power plant operation to decontamination and decommissioning, waste management and environmental monitoring. The non-energy fields of NRC applications are even much broader ranging from life sciences – radiopharmaceuticals, radiological diagnostics and therapy – through dating in geology and archaeology, (nuclear) forensics and safeguards operations, to radiation prote…

About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €2.5M toward a total project budget of €3.1M — a funding rate of 80%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 3 years from 2020-10-01 to 2023-09-30.
