Urban and Smart Island Tourism Destinations
The main objective of the project is to develop two new island destinations, located in the urban twin city area of Helsinki and Tallinn, into a popular smart nature tourism destinations. The project activites will focus on two islands, Vasikkasaari in Helsinki and Aegna in Tallinn. Both islands will be developed into attractive nature tourism destinations taking their sensitive archipelago values strongly into account. About the Environment and resource efficiency objective
Thematic Objective 6 finances environment and resource efficiency — water and waste management, biodiversity protection, contaminated-site remediation, air quality, and the circular economy.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €858k toward a total project cost of €1.1M — a co-funding rate of 78%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
