The World Heritage sites and the Biosphere Reserve Areas are cultural and natural heritage sites/areas pointed out by SBP and UNESCO as having outstanding, universal value and as role models for sustainability. The project partners and associated partners represent WH sites and Biosphere Reserve Areas in the South Baltic region. Tourism in the region is to a large extent unsustainable in terms of unbalanced seasonal patterns. About the Environment and resource efficiency objective

Thematic Objective 6 finances environment and resource efficiency — water and waste management, biodiversity protection, contaminated-site remediation, air quality, and the circular economy.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €1.3M toward a total project cost of €1.7M — a co-funding rate of 80%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
