Local authorities located on the BS coastal areas face same challenges regarding small urban water bodies and their watersheds. These watersheds are the source of nutrients, hazardous substances, toxins and micro-litter. All municipalities in the project need to reduce loading in small urban water bodies to minimize negative impacts on the BS and urban ecosystems. Thematic Objective 6 finances environment and resource efficiency — water and waste management, biodiversity protection, contaminated-site remediation, air quality, and the circular economy.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €1.5M toward a total project cost of €1.9M — a co-funding rate of 78%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
