Comprehensive project for adaptation of forests and forestry to climate change – low retention and prevention of water erosion in lowland areas
The main objective of the project is to strengthen the resilience to the risks associated with climate change in low forest ecosystems. The project covers lowland forest ecosystems, all over Poland-16 voivodships. It will be attended by 113 forests from the 17 RDLP area. The project’s impact area is estimated at 119799.39 ha. The project is a continuation of activities co-financed by the OPI 2007-13. About the Climate change adaptation, risk prevention objective
Thematic Objective 5 supports climate-change adaptation and risk prevention: flood defences, wildfire prevention, drought-management infrastructure, civil-protection systems, and ecosystem-based adaptation.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €40.8M toward a total project cost of €48.0M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
