Update and improvement of the Water Quality Networks and the Air Quality Network

The improvement of the traceability and comparability of the results of the environmental observation networks in Galicia, the improvement of the associated technical and management processes as well as the updating and incorporation of the measurement equipment of the environmental observation networks. The aim is to improve knowledge of the vulnerabilities of Galician ecosystems in order to assess the effects of climate change as well as to increase the reliability of models for predicting risks to floods, incences, episodes of atmospheric pollution and adverse climatic sources.

Thematic Objective 5 supports climate-change adaptation and risk prevention: flood defences, wildfire prevention, drought-management infrastructure, civil-protection systems, and ecosystem-based adaptation.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €2.7M toward a total project cost of €3.3M — a co-funding rate of 80%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
