EZPONDA — Studies of mechanical and chemical parameters at the origin of the alteration of the rock cliffs of the Basque coast and of defence works

Faced with the risk of erosion of rock cliffs in particular on the Basque Corniche, the Basque Country agglomeration Community through the GIS Littoral and scientific partners gathered to build the EZPONDA research project. About the Climate change adaptation, risk prevention objective

Thematic Objective 5 supports climate-change adaptation and risk prevention: flood defences, wildfire prevention, drought-management infrastructure, civil-protection systems, and ecosystem-based adaptation.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €1.6M toward a total project cost of €2.1M — a co-funding rate of 74%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
