Mapping the effects of climate change in Hungary by performing regional climate model simulations and developing a representative climate database
In order to prepare for the expected effects of climate change in Hungary, it is essential to know the direction and quantification of the changes in Hungary. Climate change can only be described by means of modelling. Regional climate models are able to describe in detail the defining processes of a selected geographical area. Model simulations also take into account the impact of human activity through the atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases. About the Climate change adaptation, risk prevention objective
Thematic Objective 5 supports climate-change adaptation and risk prevention: flood defences, wildfire prevention, drought-management infrastructure, civil-protection systems, and ecosystem-based adaptation.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €1.7M toward a total project cost of €2.0M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
