Assisting in the adaptation to climate change of the urban systems of the cross-border area

The challenges posed by climate change in the urban environment are mainly due to sudden and intense rains, getting more frequent in the cross-border area. The excessive waterproofing of cities amplifies the negative impacts of these rains, contributing to the occurrence of flood disasters. ADAPT will provide the cross-border area with a joint plan to prevent and reduce risks brought on by climate change and urban floods based on the know-how created by some projects financed by PO IFM 07-13. About the Climate change adaptation, risk prevention objective

Thematic Objective 5 supports climate-change adaptation and risk prevention: flood defences, wildfire prevention, drought-management infrastructure, civil-protection systems, and ecosystem-based adaptation.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €3.2M toward a total project cost of €3.8M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
