The Mediterranean Sea and specifically the Adriatic coastal and marine areas are particularly vulnerable to climate-related risks. The sea surface temperature of the Adriatic Sea will increase of about +. 1.5/1.6°C in 2050 and sea level will increase of +7 cm with consequent negative impacts on coastal areas and marine ecosystem services. About the Climate change adaptation, risk prevention objective

Thematic Objective 5 supports climate-change adaptation and risk prevention: flood defences, wildfire prevention, drought-management infrastructure, civil-protection systems, and ecosystem-based adaptation.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €7.5M toward a total project cost of €8.8M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
