The aim of the project of the applicant VLM SR, š.p. is to reduce the flood threat to the inhabitants of the city of Malacky by implementing flooding measures within the framework of Activity 1 – Ensuring flood protection through reconstruction and modification of the existing dams of the so-called Marheč pond system together with reconstruction of the manoeuvre objects and modifications of the bottom of the ponds to the Balážov potok stream, the applicant of which is the administrator. Thematic Objective 5 supports climate-change adaptation and risk prevention: flood defences, wildfire prevention, drought-management infrastructure, civil-protection systems, and ecosystem-based adaptation.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €2.4M toward a total project cost of €2.8M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
