CHERISH (Climate Heritage & Environments of Reefs, Islands and Headlands) will increase cross-border knowledge and understanding of the impacts (past, present and near-future) of climate change, storminess and extreme weather events on the cultural heritage of reefs, islands and headlands of the Irish Sea. The project will target data and management knowledge gaps, employing innovative techniques to discover, assess, map and monitor heritage assets on land and beneath the sea. About the Climate change adaptation, risk prevention objective
Thematic Objective 5 supports climate-change adaptation and risk prevention: flood defences, wildfire prevention, drought-management infrastructure, civil-protection systems, and ecosystem-based adaptation.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €4.1M toward a total project cost of €5.2M — a co-funding rate of 80%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
