MarRisk wants to ensure intelligent and sustainable growth of the coastal areas of Galicia and Northern Portugal by assessing the most important coastal risks in a climate change scenario. Floods, intensification of extreme events, episodes of toxic algae or coastal erosion are examples of risks to be analyzed in order to improve the resilience of traditional economic sectors and other emerging sectors such as marine renewable energies. About the Climate change adaptation, risk prevention objective

Thematic Objective 5 supports climate-change adaptation and risk prevention: flood defences, wildfire prevention, drought-management infrastructure, civil-protection systems, and ecosystem-based adaptation.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €2.2M toward a total project cost of €3.0M — a co-funding rate of 75%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
